Harold John "Jack" Reynolds, Jr., 83, of Scotia Village and formerly of Scotch Meadows died Monday, August 31, at Scotia Village.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. A Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium with a visitation following until 9 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Sharlene Reynolds Pepin of Lafayette, CO, Sandra Schroer of Evergreen, CO, and Suzanne Reynolds of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Katharine Pepin, Conor Pepin, Jessica Schroer, and Sean Schroer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon, and his wife, Eleanor.
Mr. Reynolds was born November 24, 1925 in Norfolk, VA, the sone of the late Ellen and Harold J. Reynolds, Sr.. Jack Married Eleanor F. Jenkins Reynolds of July 11, 1953 in New Jersey and relocated with three children to Denver, CO in 1972 and in 1987 the couple moved to Laurinburg. He was a veteran of World War II and participated in four major battle campaigns in the European theater of conflict.
Jack had a degree in chemical engineering from Penn State and retired in 1992 after 32 years in research work for the Johns-Manville Corporation. He was on the board of directors for the Scotland Community Health Clinic, and as a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, he was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the finance committee, a lector, a past Deanery representative, and participated on the Christmas Cheer committee for many years. For hobbies, Jack enjoyed golf and gardening.
