Mr. Harold Clifton Bailey, 81, of 605 East Covington Street died Monday, June 19, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Jim Bumgardner. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by four daughters, Rebecca Simmons and husband, Don, Brenda Dunn and husband, John, Darlene Swing and Rosemary McKeithan and husband Charles, all of Laurinburg; two step-daughters, Barbara Suggs and husband Jerry of Hamlet and Carol Raby and husband Glenn of Elm City; one step-son, David Cox and wife, Toni of Laurinburg; two brothers, Buford Bailey of Wadesboro and Elbert "Ray" Bailey of Reidsville; one sister, Doris Teeter of Wingate; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jordan Bailey and his second wife, Mary Cox Bailey.
Born September 10, 1924 in Anson County, NC, he was also a son of the late James Benjamin and Nezzie Mae Goodwin Bailey. He was retired from Laurel Crest (Fieldcrest) Mills as head technician in the loom area. He served in the US Army during WWII, serving in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Bailey was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He helped relocate and restore church at its present location. He also loved showing his 641/2 Mustang and won many trophies at various shows.

Visitation will be Wednesday 7-9 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
