Hal Douglas Shepard

Hal Douglas Shepard, 69, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Holly Mount Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ben Hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.

Born February 18, 1953, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Montgomery and Rosie Johnson Shepard. Hal enjoyed sweets, animals, and babies. He liked to joke and pull pranks.

He is survived by his sisters, Sarah S. Howell (Danny) and Nancy Locklear, both of Candor; brother, David Shepard (Linda) of Candor; nieces, Rena Howell of Candor, Sandy Blake (Kenny) of Troy, Tracy Haywood of Cary, Tiffany Haywood (Rodney) of Mt. Gilead, Katie Batten (Bradley) of Troy, Carrie McNeill (Bernard) of Salisbury, Casey Deaton of TN, Andrea Shepard of Asheboro, Courtney Shepard of Candor, and Kayla Shepard of Albemarle; step-nephew, Thomas Sisk  (Aimee) of Apex; great-niece and a caretaker, Misty Arrington; and a host of cousins. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Otho Lee Shepard and Curtis William Shepard, and niece, Sherri Howell.
