Grover Harrison Taylor, 77, of 17081 Hurley Drive died Saturday, March 2, at his residence.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church officiated by Father Robert Diegelman. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Spanky Taylor, Larry Moore, Julius Taylor, Dewey Taylor, Jimmy Wright, and Ed Brigman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine Knox Taylor; a son, Timmy Taylor and wife, Vickie of Laurinburg; two daughters, Sue Porter and husband, Wayne of Wilmington and Liza Marler and husband, Michael of Atlanta, GA; he was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Taylor.
He is also survived by a brother, Erwin Taylor of Laurinburg, four sisters, Lena Smith, Carolyn Turner, and Dot Snead of Laurinburg and Evelyn Snead of Laurel Hill; six grandchildren, Melissa Radford, Timeri Walters, Vickie Lynn Gainey, Max Porter, Emily Tilghman, and Taylor Marler; and 6 great grandchildren.
Born December 3, 1924 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late James H. and Eliza Sessoms Taylor. He served in the South Pacific with the US Navy in World War II. Following the war he began his carpentry business for which he was well known.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
