Mr. Graham Dowdell Bogel, 79, of Scotia Village died Tuesday, May 30, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Jim Bumgardner. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Sophia Gregson Bogel; a son, Russell Bogel of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Clara B. Cowsar of Carrizo Springs, TX; two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Bogel and his first wife, Betty Lou "Boo" Bogel.
Born November 1, 1926 in San Antonio, TX, he was a son of the late Amos G. and Mary Pancoast Bogel. He graduated from Texas Tech and served two years in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He then worked with Bristol-Babcock, designing instruments used in transportation of water and gas. He also held four US Patents.
