Grady Lewis Stanley, 93, died Friday, November 14, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. C. F. McDowell, III. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
He is survived by a sister, Beatrice O'Brien of Hamlet; a granddaughter, Rhonda S Brinks of Wagram; and a great granddaughter, Bailey Brinks of Wagram.
Grady was born October 13, 1915 in Scotland County to the late James B. and Donnie Milikin Stanley. He served with the US Army in World War II with the 100th Bombardment Squadron in the western Pacific. Following the war he worked in textiles, later with the Lance Company, and for 17 years was the circulation manager for "The Laurinburg Exchange." Grady was always a giving person, putting others before himself.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Ammons Stanley in on March 25, 1998 and his son, Ronnie Stanley on July 14, 2008.
