Mrs. Gracie Chavis, 65, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, in her residence after an illness.

Born in Scotland County, NC, September 26, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Solomon Troublefield and Sudie Hunt Troublefield. She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed gardening and sewing and had a great love for Southern Gospel Music.

She is survived by her husband, Corbit Chavis of the home; sons, Bobby Locklear of Laurinburg and Frank Locklear of Laurel Hill; daughter, Corrinna Maynor of Laurel Hill; 10 grandchildren.

Mrs. Chavis was predeceased in death by her son, David Ray Locklear in 1996; brothers, Johnny, Tommy and Joe Troublefield; sister, Virginia Driggers.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in Higher Dimensions Ministries Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. D.J. Byrd. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
