Glenn Eugene Stokes

Glenn Eugene “Buggy” Stokes of Laurinburg, departed on his journey November 13, 2018 along by his side he took his feline granddaughter Snowflake.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 Saturday, November 24, 2018 at North Laurinburg Baptist Church, 517 Lee’s Mill Road, Laurinburg, NC.  Due to unforseen circumstances, a private burial will take place at a later date.

Born September 13, 1936 in Raleigh, NC to the late Glenn Hubert Stokes and Ruth Pearl Wiggins Stokes, he was the only boy of their six children.  His sisters include, Mrs. Aline Rooker of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Mrs. Frances Dixon of Emporia, VA and Mrs. Annie Ruth Hicks of Morrison, OK.

At a very early age, he moved to Roanoke Rapids, NC and throughout the years lived in Raeford, NC eventually settling in Laurinburg.  Laurinburg is where he met the love of his life, Judith “Judy” Stone and married her on December 5, 1964 after which they had three sons, Adrian, and twins David Glenn and Danna Lynn (deceased); special daughter-in-law, Dawn Elvis Stokes; special granddaughter, Kelly P. Stokes; special nieces and nephews, Ken Ikner, Holly Smith Anderson, Amber M. Smith, Tannon Smith, Kinsman Smith, Destine Smith and Karlie Hunt; and special friend, Brenda McGee.  Along with his son, Danna, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mrs. Christine Shivley of Columbia, SC and Mrs. Betty Braddy of St. Louis MO.

A visitation will be held 12:30 - 7:00 pm, Friday, November 23, 2018 at North Laurinburg Baptist Church, and Judy will be present to receive family and friends from 5-7 pm.
