Glenn Elliott Beane, a cherished family man, dedicated serviceman, and devout Christian, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, March 31, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church, Laurinburg, officiated by Pastor Kellie Gallagher. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation with brunch will start at 11:00 AM in the fellowship hall.
Born on January 23, 1934, in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Herbert Paul Beane and Louise M. Hasty Beane. Glenn's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, his faith-filled spirit, and his remarkable handiness. Glenn is survived by his daughter, Glenda Louise Faxon (Bob) of Tallahassee, FL; his son, Michael Elliott Beane (Rachel) of Pensacola, FL; his grandchildren, Devin Kyle Faxon, Mariah Paige Farrell, and Megan Danielle Beane; his great-grandchild, Violet Paige Farrell; stepson, Paul Faulk, Jr; step-grandchildren, Amanda Faulk, Paul (Tripp) Faulk, III, and Shane Faulk; and step-grandchild, Harmony Gibson. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann Deese, and his second wife, Claudette Gibson Faulk Beane; and his brother, Hervey Ray Beane. Glenn's commitment to service was evident in his 24 years with the United States Navy, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His love for serving his country was a cornerstone of his identity, and he carried the discipline and camaraderie of military life into his civilian endeavors. Following his honorable service, Glenn retired from the United States Postal Service, where he continued to serve his community with dedication and pride. A devout member of the First United Methodist Church, Glenn's faith guided him in all aspects of life. He taught Sunday School, sharing his love for God and Christ with others. His passion for his faith was evident in his every action, as he lived his life as a working servant to the divine. Glenn was also a proud Mason, affiliated with the Masonic Lodge #305. His involvement with the Masons was another testament to his commitment to fellowship and his belief in the values of brotherhood, charity, and truth. In his leisure time, Glenn had a unique talent for working on watches and fixing almost anything. His hands were rarely still, always tinkering, repairing, and restoring. His love for flea markets and antique stores was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his appreciation for history and the stories held within timeless objects. Those who knew Glenn would describe him as incredible friend. His kindness was boundless, and his faith-filled nature inspired all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Glenn's legacy is one of love, service, and faith. He loved his family and friends deeply and was a kind soul who brought joy and comfort to everyone around him.
