Gladys Pauline Snipes Sanford, 86, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Sanford (Kathy) and Earl Sanford (Sallie Stephenson) of Laurinburg; James Sanford of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Jamie Kettlety (Caroline) of Laurel Hill, and Ray Kettlety of Greensboro; her brother, James Snipes of Laurinburg; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was born in Richmond County on July 31, 1926, a daughter of the late Victor Edward and Bessie Beatrice Wright Snipes and widow of the late Earl Noah Sanford. She retired as a shipping clerk for Waverly Mills in 1991 after 45 years of service.
In her pastime she enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and being with her grandchildren.
An active member of Central United Methodist Church, she was a member and past president of the Happy Methodists, and was a member of the East Laurinburg Senior Citizens.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
