Mrs. Gladys Thompson Norton, 91, of 20921 Snead's Grove Road died Thursday, July 12, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Snead's grove United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Jim Thompson. Burial will follow in the Snead-Norton Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Burnette and husband, J. C., of Laurinburg; five sisters, Mrs. Alex McIntyre and Mrs. Roger Clemmons of Laurinburg, Mrs. Joe Breeden of Bennettsville, SC, Mrs. Jack Summerlin of Indianapolis, IN, and Mrs. Maynard Royster of Cary; two granddaughters, Sue Ellen Parrish and Pamella Anne Bullock; four great grandchildren, Brandon and Blake Parrish and Ryne and Chase Bullock. She was also predeceased by a son, Maurice Norton.

Born March 23, 1910 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late J. S. and Ellen Hasty Thompson. She was an active member of Snead's Grove United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, official board member, and as superintendent of the Sunday school.
