Mrs. Gladys Caddell Jones, 85, of Midland Way died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Scotland Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. C. F. McDowell, III. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John W. "Jack" Jones, Jr.; two sons, Robert Jones and wife, Martha of Kernersville and John Jones and wife, Candice of Laurinburg; six grandchildren, Shaw Lewis, III, Tim Jones, Nathan Jones, Christopher Jones, Lori Jones, and Brandi Jones; three great grandchildren, Joshua Lewis, Jack Lewis, and Noah Jones. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Jones Lewis and two brothers, Bill Caddell and Robert N. Caddell.
Gladys was born May 4, 1925 in Robeson County and was a daughter of the late William Bryant and Ruby Denson Caddell. For 28 years she was an operator for Southern Bell. She was also a member of the Lions Club and was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she frequently assisted in the kitchen details; serving meals to families and church members with her ever present smile.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
