Gladys Turnage Creech

Mrs. Gladys Turnage Creech, 93, a resident of John Knox Village, Orange City, FL died Friday, February 19, 1999.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Lawrence Coleman. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Creech was born October 25, 1905 on her mother's birthday. She was the sixth of ten children born to Burt and Lula Turnage of Smithfield, NC. She married Edwin D. Creech and they settled in Laurinburg in 1925. She and her husband spent many years in the hardware business located on Main Street.
Mrs. Creech was known in Laurinburg for her many years of community service and her strong ties to Laurinburg's First Baptist Church. She was most proud of her leadership in helping establish Stewartsville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Creech is survived by her son, Edwin D. Creech, Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Rebecca Davis of Vilas, Shadie Creech of Orlando, FL, and Harald Creech of Woodbridge, VA; six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
