Mrs. Gertie Adams Wood, 55, of St. John's Church Road died suddenly Tuesday, Marcy 2, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. J. B. Loving.
Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Gene Wood of Rockingham; a daughter, Missy Wood of Laurel Hill; her mother, Lillie Griffin Adams of Gibson; two brothers, Bobby Adams of Gibson and Ken Adams of Laurinburg; two sisters, Linda Jeffords and Mary Lett of Gibson; 3 grandsons, Tyler Johnson, Dakota Wood, and Dylan Johnson.
Born March 8, 1943 in Scotland County, she was also a daughter of the late Allen Adams. She was formerly employed with Fieldcrest Industries and was most recently a clerk with Village Fare in Laurel Hill. She was also the Sunday school secretary and treasurer at Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church of over 20 years and a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Visitation will be 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday at the Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church.
