George Roland Morton

George Roland Morton, 69, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Arlen Johnson.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Born April 16, 1950, he was a son of the late George and Jessie Greene Morton.  He retired as a salesman with Morris Tire and later drove a truck.  He loved woodworking and spending time with his friends.

He is survived by one son, Travis Morton and his wife, Summer of Troy; one grandson, Auston Morton and Tiffany; one granddaughter, Amber Morton; one great grandson, Rylan Morton; one brother Herman Morton and his wife, Teresa of Troy; and one sister, Brenda Johnson of Troy.
