George Monroe Lynthacum

George Monroe Lynthacum, 86, of Biscoe, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Biscoe, officiated by Rev. Larry Wilson and Rev. Josh Powers.

Born August 11, 1937, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Lonnie Vale and Minnie Edward Lamonds Lynthacum. George was the former owner/operator of the BP in Biscoe. He was a people person, loved to watch wrestling, and enjoyed talking to people. George loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Burns Lynthacum, of the home; daughter, Melissa Vankooten Green, of the home; son, Richard M. Lynthacum (Zack), of Raleigh; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his five brothers and sisters.
