George Lee Lucas, Sr.

George Lee Lucas, Sr., 86, of Star passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his residence.

Born December 14, 1939, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late George H. and Rachael Shuping Lucas. He was a Consulting Engineer in the textile industry for many years, built furniture, and was a former police officer in Randleman.

George enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, dancing, cooking and cleaning house, coastal fishing, and watching the news. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, George Lucas (Debbie) of Mt. Gilead, Timothy Lucas (Cynthia) of Star, Patrick Lucas (Tina) of Star; daughter, Chelsea Lucas of Kansas City, MO; brother, Hal Lucas of Star; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Roger Eugene Lucas; daughter, Maria Lucas; five sisters; and two brothers.
