Mr. George Everette Grooms, 83, of 21780 Bunch Road died Tuesday, January 11, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church officiated by Don Malpass and the Rev. Arlis Greene. Burial will follow in Sandhills Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born April 30, 1916, he was a retired supervisor for Springs Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Meloise Grooms; a son, James E. Grooms of Baltimore; a daughter, Doris Locklear of Laurel Hill; two step-daughters, Jo Anne Smith of Laurinburg and Linda Herndon of Laurel Hill; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
