Garry Lee Freeman

Garry Lee Freeman, 67, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Norwood, officiated by Larry Wayne Russell. The family will receive friends following the service. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks are suggested and please practice social distancing.

Born November 17, 1954, in Charleston County, SC, he was the son of the late Lorenzo Dow and Sally Mauldin Freeman. Garry loved fishing and didn’t like to be out fished and usually his wife, Kathy, out fished him. He loved his dogs and never met a dog he didn’t like. Garry was a self-employed carpenter, and a retired supervisor of Dixie Lawn Service.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Stroud Freeman, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Freeman Lucas (Sean) of Troy; son, Christopher Freeman of Candor; sister, Melva Dawn Russell of SC; sister-in-law, Patricia Mauldin and family of Norwood; and nephew, Larry Wayne Russell of Fayetteville.
