Freddie (Carter) Davis

Freddie Carter Davis, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Scotia Village.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Carter Family Cemetery.

Born on January 19, 1934, in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Lyon and Winnie Wallace Carter.

Freddie was a member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, where she was known for her dedication to helping others.

She had a passion for working in her yard, and loved her flowers.  She was equally passionate about decorating for the holidays.  Above all, Freddie was devoted to her family and she loved helping people.

She is survived by her sons, Craig Davis (Melanie) of Laurel Hill, and Jeff Davis (Ann) of Cherryville, NC; her sister, Virginia Smith; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Davis; and her sister, Blanche Blackwelder.

The family suggest that memorials be made to Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, PO Box 217, Laurel Hill, NC 28351 or Scotland Regional Hospice, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
