Florence Dendy Hellekson, 94, formerly of Maxton and Montreat passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Trinity Oaks Lutheran Home in Salisbury.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, Maxton officiated by the Rev. Dr. Robert Dendy. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Caddell (Tom)of Salisbury and Sally Moore (Joel) of Maxton, her grandchildren, Lynn Hiskey (Jon) of Franklin, TN, Mac Caddell and Chris Moore (Amy) of Asheville, and Shaun Moore of Boone; 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Rusty Hellekson and husband, Russell Hellekson.
Born December 24, 1918 in Laurens, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie Culbertson Dendy. She formerly taught business classes at Presbyterian Junior College, St. Andrews University, and Richmond Community College.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at the First Presbyterian Church.

The family would like to extend its appreciation to the staffs of Prestwick Village, Morrison Manor and The Lutheran Home for their attentive loving care for the last five years.
