Mrs. Evelyn Taylor Snead, 79, of 22761 Snead's Grove Road died Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Ronnie Norton. Burial will follow in the Snead Town Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Snead and wife, Melody and Leonard Snead and wife, Sue of Laurel Hill; a god child, Kimberly Livingston; a daughter-in-law, Laura Snead of Laurel Hill; a brother, J. Erwin Taylor of Laurinburg; three sisters, Dorothy Snead, Carolyn Turner, and Lena Smith of Laurinburg; seven grandchildren, Michelle Willis and husband, Jason, Karen Elliott, April Dennis, Renee Quick, Barbara Lamb and husband, Gene, and Brenda Gaymon and husband, Charles; 12 great grandchildren.
Born June 26, 1930 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Eliza Ann Sessoms Taylor and widow of the late Paul Leonard Snead, Sr. She worked with Abbott Laboratories for many years and was a also former Gray Lady at Scotland Memorial Hospital. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, sister, and grandmother that enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harrison Snead; granddaughter, Chrystal Everett; grandson, Gregory Lee Snead; brothers, Pete, Rufus, Archie, and Grover Taylor; and sisters, Annie Carter and Dora Bell Brigman.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
