Mrs. Evelyn Ransom Clark, 76, of 10080 Gibson Road died Tuesday, December 25, at Century Care in Laurinburg.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillside Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Jim Bumgardner.

She is survived by her husband, Pleaz Clark; a son, Pleaz "Buddy" Clark, Jr. of Laurel Hill; two daughters, Janet Clark Moss of Athens, GA and Liza Clark Auld of Rock Hill, SC; two grandchildren, Fredrick Gant Taylor and Clark MacQueen Auld; two great grandchildren, Melanie Hope Taylor and Jonathan Gant Taylor.

Born December 26, 1930 in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Annie Sanderson Ransom. She was a retired cafeteria cashier at Scotland High School. Evelyn was also a published poet and a member of the North Carolina and South Carolina Poetry Society.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
