Laurinburg
Mrs. Evelyn Christine Bridger Caudill, 86, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Evergreens in High Point.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the East Laurinburg Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Alvin Jackson. Entombment will follow in Scotland Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Kelly Caudill and wife, Susan of Marietta, GA and Jeffrey Scott Caudill and partner, James Anders of High Point; two brothers, Roger Bridger and Darryl Bridger of Laurinburg; two sisters, Ophelia Adams Peck of Cincinnati, OH and Vara Hilburn of Laurinburg; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Caudill, a daughter, Mary Susan Packter, and a sister, Marian Carter.
Born January 12, 1923 in Laurinburg, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Mamie Bridger. She originally worked with Waverly Mills and later was a lab technician for Monsanto Chemicals in Miamisburg, OH before retiring and returning to Laurinburg. Evelyn loved East Laurinburg Baptist Church where she was an active member and pianist. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bowling, and participating in homemakers activities.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
