Eva Mae Kennedy, 96, of High Falls passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Autumn Care in Biscoe.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at High Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church.
A native of Moore County, Eva Mae was born May 17, 1930 to Roland and Lucy Upchurch. She was a devoted wife and mother and a longtime member of High Falls United Methodist Church where her faith was an important part of her life. She dedicated many years of service to Collins & Aikman in Siler City. Eva Mae found joy in the little things. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her potato salad and peach cobbler. She was forced to enjoy watching sports while being surrounded by all the men in her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and a smile that will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her son, Tim Kennedy of Troy; daughter-in-law, Marlene Kennedy of High Falls; granddaughters, Julia Russell and husband Jonathan of High Falls, and Anna Kennedy of Albemarle; grandsons, Aaron Babson and wife Natalie of Stokesdale, Daniel Kennedy and wife Jennifer of Robbins, and Dylan Kennedy and wife Kayla of Wendel; and great grandchildren, Sydney and Jennings Russell, Mackenzie and Riley Babson, and Hailey, Andrew, and Cameron Kennedy.
Eva Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Frank” Kennedy; son, Frankie Kennedy; brother, Harold Upchurch; and nephew, Larry Upchurch.
