Mrs. Eva Mae Chavis Harding, 82, of 1408-A McBride Ave., Live Oaks Estates died Monday, May 7, at her home.


Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by her son, the Rev. Howard Harding. Burial will follow in Stewartsville Cemetery.


She is survived by three sons, Thomas Harding, Jr. of Laurinburg, the Rev. Howard Harding and wife, Peggy of Laurinburg; Edwin "Pete" Harding of Koposvar, Hungary; three daughters, Peggy Forbis and husband, Buck of Laurinburg, Shirley Heverley and husband, Robby of Washington, NC, and Linda Locklear and husband, Bill of Chester, VA; a sister, Thelma Holloman of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Toby and Randy Bergman, Neil and Ashley Hawkins, David and Allison Blevins, Peter and Melody Harding, Thomas Harding, Bryan Dallas, Kevin and Cindy Dallas, Scott and Cathy Blanks, Donna McKenzie, Richard and Pam Quick, Lisa Forbis, Stephen Harding, Kelli, Linn and Alan Heverley, Kevin and Chasity Bowen, Buffy Thompkins, and Darren Locklear; great grandchildren, Joshua Hawkins, Noah Harding, Megan Harding, Britney and Kathleen Nicole Dallas, Sarah and Caroline Blanks, Justin McKenzie, Josh, Marc, and Mandy Quick, Matt and Aaron McKenzie, Breanne Bowen, Taylor Locklear and Micah Stanton, and many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.


She was predeceased by two daughters, Dorothy Harding and Kathleen Harding Dallas, two brothers, Floyd Chavis and Cleve Chavis, and a sister, Irene Wilkins.


Born June 22, 1918 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Sandy and Mary Magalene "Maggie" Chavis. She will always be remembered as a very caring person who would rather give than receive.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m.
Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
