Eula Guest Robertson

March 5, 1924 — May 31, 2015

Laurinburg

In the early morning of May 31, 2015, Dooda Robertson departed this life, ascended to Heaven joining the family and friends she had missed for so long.

Dooda was born March 5, 1924 in Mobile, Alabama. She acquired her nickname "Dooda" when her brother, Mack, could not pronounce Eula. She was affectionately known by that name the rest of her life.

That life went from the playful innocence of Sandy Ridge, AL to Charlotte briefly, and on to Laurinburg where she enjoyed life to the fullest.

A true Southern Belle, but she like to boast that she was the first woman to play golf at Scotch Meadows Country Club.

She attended Auburn University and would admit that she majored in "art, dancing, and having fun." Dooda could be counted on to shout out "WAR EAGLE" loudly upon seeing the Auburn logo. She loved art, humor, dancing, and being creative. She was an excellent cook, gardener, and supported her children's love of creating art.

Dooda married William David "Buddy" Robertson on September 2, 1950. For the next 59 years they set up house in Charlotte, Florence, and finally back to Laurinburg.

She is predeceased by her parents, Edwin M. and Sarah Haynes Guest, husband, W. D. "Buddy" Robertson, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Winston Guest, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Dineen (Dr. Jeff Dineen) of Wilmington, Pat Robertson (John Pollard) of Charlotte, and son David Robertson, Jr. (Kim), their children, Cole and Kenzie of Simpsonville, SC; her nephews, Ed Guest (Anne) and Fairley Guest (Joy) and nieces Linda and Laurie Robertson.

A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet, NC.
