Mrs. Eula Carlisle Abernathy, 85, of 1703 Stonewall Road died Monday, November 22, at UNC Hospitals.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Gospel Chapel Baptist Church near Ramseur.
She is survived by two sons, David Grainger of Ramseur and Randal Abernathy and wife, Jean of Alta Vista, VA; two sisters, Thelma Britt of East Laurinburg and Catherine Bullard of Ash; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelva Batton.
Born February 22, 1919 in Brunswick County, she was a daughter of the late D. L. and Mary Canady Carlisle. She worked for many years as a spinner in Prince Mills and later was employed with C & W Restaurant.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
