Eugene Franklin “Gene” Livingston, 96, died Sunday, January 13, 2008.
A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Snead’s Grove United Methodist Church. Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
He is survived by a son, Frank Livingston and wife, Sylvia of Oak Island; three daughters, Sue Rudisill and husband, Rudy of Charlotte, Sarah Rollings and husband, Fred of Camden, SC, and Carol Coughenour and husband, Jim of Laurinburg; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lunsford Livingston.
Born April 3, 1921 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late M. F. and Lena Peele Livingston. Gene was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific theatre with the 20th Air Force. Returning to Scotland County, he owned and operated Livingston Esso Service from 1952 – 65. Afterwards, he owned and operated Livingston Landscape Service.
An active member of Snead’s Grove United Methodist Church, he served as a trustee, and on the finance, scholarship and pastor-parish committees.
