Mrs. Ethel Caroline "Tessie" Biddell, 84, of 404 Prince Street died Wednesday, March 5, at UNC Hospitals.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Jerry Lowry and Nancy Willard. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Francis H. Biddell; two sons, Dan Biddell of Bostic and Joe Alex Biddell of Raleigh; a daughter, Ruth Thompson of Leland; a brother, Joe Marsh Daniel of Parkton; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Born in April 18, 1918 in Parkton, she was a daughter of the late Enoch B. and Ethel Marsh Daniel. She was a graduate of Flora Macdonald College with a major in home economics and taught school for one year.
Tessie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where she was often the first to welcome newcomers and visitors with Sunday afternoon visits. She will be remembered as a happy lady and a loving mother and wife.
