Emmitt Edward Aaron, 78, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Robert Dean. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Tyndall Aaron; his daughter, Donna Ganous of Laurel Hill; his brothers, P. J. Aaron and Merle Aaron of Texas; his sisters, Doris Wright, Patsy McQuage, Kappie Majia, and Brenda Aaron of Texas; his grandchildren, April Bullock of Gibson, Russell Gentry of Charlotte, and Jonathan Ganous of Laurinburg; his great grandchildren, Zachary Gentry, Dallas Bullock, Kyrie Gentry, and Lincoln Gentry.
Born December 29, 1936 in Hildago Co., Texas, he was a son of the late James and Gladys Goode Aaron. Emmitt served 3 years in the US Army and 20 years in the US Air Force.
He was a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service and was always equipped with bubble gum for the children on his route. Emmitt was also an active member of Central United Methodist Church where he was active in nearly every part of church life, even being named an honorary member of the United Methodist Women. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, carving intricate details in wood, and working in his garden.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
