Emma (Pittman) Wade

Emma Wade, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, at the age of 92 at Morrison Manor.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Crematorium Chapel officiated by Rev. Harry Clark.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on April 21, 1932, in Robeson County she was the daughter of the late James Bethel Pittman and Emma Todd Pittman.

Emma, known for her thoughtful nature and her ability to make everyone feel loved, spent 38 years in the textiles industry. She was a woman who truly never met a stranger, and her declaration of love to those around her became a cherished quality of her character. Emma’s interests were simple yet profound: she loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren, and she found joy in the everyday moments she shared with them.  Her life was characterized by her loving nature, as she was always eager to extend kindness and thoughtfulness to those she encountered. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Ford and her husband, Tom of Laurinburg; her brother, Herbert Pittman of Laurinburg; her grandchildren, Christie, Mitch, Jason, Emma Jewel, Jenny and Melissa; her great-grandchildren, Braelin Cire', Triston, Skylar, Garrett, Ruby Mae, Walker, Amelia, Melissa, Davy, and Rose Mae; her step-granddaughter, Veronica; her special niece, Faye Poole Lowery; and special nephew, Bobby Pittman, along with a host of other nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Rudolph B. Hardy; her second husband, Bonnie Earl Wade; her son, Johnnie F. Hardy; her daughter, Sharon Evans; her step-daughter, Shirley “Bootsie” Godfrey; and siblings, Mary Lee Caulder, Jimmy Pittman, Jack Lee Pittman, and David Pittman.
