Mr. Elvin (Smitty) Tennyson Smith, Jr., 53 of 807 W. Scotsdale Road died Monday, January 8, at his home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Lowery officiating. Burial will follow at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet.
Born October 21, 1947 in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of the late Elvin and Mary Ruth Tindall Smith.
He was a retired Sergeant First Class with the US Army, he was also employed by Manpower where he worked for Abbott Laboratories and Cooper Petroleum. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife; Sharon Boulier Smith of the home, one daughter; Melissa Smith-Packett of Southern Pines, one son; John Elvin Smith of Raleigh, one sister; Doris Smith of Laurel Hill, two granddaughters; Jenna and Haleigh Packett.
The family will be receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
