Elsie Bullard Allred, 88, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 26, 2023.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Hillside Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Michael Malpass.
Born on December 5, 1934, in Bladen County, she was a daughter of the late, Byron Clifford Bullard and Ludie Hardin Bullard. She served in the claims department with Hartford for 20 years and later as a secretary with Wachovia for eight years. Elsie was a woman of many interests and passions. She was a devoted volunteer with Scotland Regional Hospice, Scotland Memorial Hospital, and the American Red Cross. She also had a love for reading, sports, and puzzles. Her favorite pastime was watching basketball, a sport she passionately followed.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Mundy (Tiina) of Elizabethtown, NC, and Craig Mundy (Sharon) of Abingdon, VA; daughter, Lisa Crusen of Richmond, VA; brother, Byron Allen Bullard of Kernersville, NC; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Allred; and her sisters, Elizabeth Goforth and Maxine Cain.
