Eloise Stewart Thompson of Wilmington, formerly of Greenville, NC, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center after a brief illness.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Caledonia United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, NC. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. For those wishing to express their condolences, the family will receive friends in the church sanctuary, immediately following the burial.
Born June 15, 1923 in Laurinburg, NC, she was the daughter of Angus McLean Stewart and Emma Lee McMillan Stewart Myers. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-one years, John Gilbert Thompson.
She is survived by daughters, Nancy Thompson Efird and husband Thomas Edmond Efird, and Patricia Thompson Hoban and husband William David Hoban; and son, John Charles Thompson and wife Carolyn Brown Thompson; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
