Ellie Maie (Smith) Saunders

Ellie Maie Saunders, 90, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

Services will be private.

Born January 22, 1931 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ellen Glasgow Smith. She worked as a pairer at Russell Hosiery for many years. She loved to color, work puzzles, crochet, read and cook.

She is survived by her son, Jack Wesley Saunders, Jr. of Tabor City, NC; daughters, Vanessa Stuart of Biscoe, Jackie Parsons of Troy, and Robin Saunders of Biscoe; sisters, Ann White, and Alice Bowman, both of Candor; brother, Alvin Smith of Candor; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Wesley Saunders, Sr., and her brothers and sisters, Bobby Smith, Mac Smith, Nancy Webb, Terry Smith and Ethel Goins.
