Elizabeth Boyd

Margaret Elizabeth Thompson Boyd peacefully took her place in heaven on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. She was surrounded in her home by her loved ones.

The funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Blackwood Chapel Church in Candor.

Born September 24, 1939, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Ruth Parsons Thompson. Elizabeth was a native to Montgomery County, and a faithful member of Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church in Pekin. She was a clerical assistant for Gilead Manufacturing and Russell-Harvell Hosiery Mills with 42 years of service. Elizabeth loved her church, gardening, and helping people. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Lief Erick Boyd; daughter, Karen Boyd Fluharty; grandson, Robert Taylor Fluharty; sisters, Helen Thompson McLeod, and Janice Thompson Eller. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a huge community of friends. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Boyd. The family will receive friends, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.
