Mrs. Elizabeth Tatum "Lib" Benton, 90, of 212 Tall Trees Drive, Pinehurst and formerly of Laurinburg died Sunday, September 18, at Pinehurst Heathcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. L. D. Kimrey. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Herman Benton, Jr. and wife, Irene of Laurinburg; her daughter, Marianne Bardell and husband, Hank of Pinehurst; five grandchildren, Ashley Bland and husband of Sunset Beach, Laura Ellis and husband, Jeff of Pinehurst, JulieAnn Clodfelter and husband, Brian of Pinehurst, Jim Benton and wife, Kathryn of Charlotte, and Ann Gibson and husband John of Laurinburg; and 9 great grandchildren, Ethan Ellis, Aden Ellis, Chad Clodfelter, Mason Clodfelter, Tanner Benton, Laurel Benton, Sam Benton, Chase Gibson, and Brett Gibson.
Born December 24, 1914 in Marlboro County, SC she was a daughter of the late William G. and Viola Moore Tatum and widow of the late James Herman Benton.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 883, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
