Elisa Duran Jernigan, 64, died Friday, May 27, 2001 after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Pine Crest Cemetery, Gibson.
She is survived by her husband, Dewayne Jernigan; two daughters, Sandra Goins of Gibson and Wendy Chavis of Laurinburg; four brothers, Lewis Duran of Monroe, Manuel Duran of California, Carmela Duran of Mexico; six grandchildren, Ashley Goins, Robert Goins, Justin Goins, Samuel Goins, Carlie Jernigan, and Jerry Wayne Chavis, III; two great granddaughters, Alyssa Porter and Ava Goins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Felix Duran and a granddaughter, Therese Nicole Goins.
Born June 5, 1946 in Chihuahua, Mexico she was also a daughter of the late Tenasio and Rosario Duran. He was formerly employed for many years with Waverly Mills and later Sinclair Lumber Company.
