Eli Gideon Rudd

Eli Gideon Rudd blessed this earth and his family with eight sweet weeks of life and cherished memories. He passed from the arms of his parents into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital surrounded by those who loved him dearly.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Exway Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jaimie Biggs. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born on April 7, 2024, Eli was the treasured son of Marty and Amanda Rudd and beloved brother of Levi. The joy and life he offered this world was unlike any other, and his memory will be carried in the hearts of those who were touched by his own. He is loved deeply, and his family clings to the hope of heaven when they will be reunited again.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Levi Sawyer Rudd; maternal grandparents, Tommy and Lynette McLendon; paternal grandmother, Linda Collins; maternal great grandmother, Brenda Rudd; paternal grandparents Bucky and MaryAnn Hamby; uncle, Wesley McLendon and wife Christine, Steven McLendon and wife Hannah, Taylor Collins and wife Rachel; cousins, Aubree, Lillie, Callan and Benjamin; and many extended family members. Eli is preceded in death by his grandfather, Marty Rudd Sr.; great grandfather, Arthur Rudd; paternal great grandmother, Alice Airington and maternal great grandmother Annie Lou McLendon; paternal great grandfather Wilbert Airington and maternal great grandfather, Leo McLendon; uncle Jacob Collins; aunt, Amy McLendon.
