She was born May 1, 1929 in Greensboro, NC, a daughter of the late Charles Bascom and Alice Fowler Robinson, Sr. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth L. Robinson and Richard H. Robinson. On September 25, 1953 Eleanor married George Hargrave Walker. They made their home in Harrells, NC.

Eleanor is survived by her husband George Sr and sons Charles R. (Rusty) Walker and wife Kathy N. Walker, George H. Walker, Jr and wife Kathy A. Walker. Eleanor had three grandchildren, Richard Lee Kerr, III and wife Catherine S. Kerr, Gabriel Godbey and wife Melanie Godbey, and Jessica N. Walker. She was blessed with seven great grandchildren. Eleanor came from a large and loving family and is survived by her sister Evelyn White Robinson Shaver, Worth Owen Robinson, James Edward Robinson, Charles Bascom Robinson Jr, Thomas Avery Robinson, Graham Olan Robinson and Jack Burton Robinson. She was blessed with the additional love of her brothers and sisters in laws, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was a woman of many interests, talents and gifts. Her greatest loves were her family and her church. She served her entire life in many capacities of the church life, but her greatest gift of all was her personal ministry of sending birthday cards to every member of her church. This quiet and simple gesture was a genuine show of God's love for all as she reached out to everyone in her own way. She was a force of friendliness and made everyone feel welcomed. She would greet all visitors and learn of their families and interests and carefully record and share their stories in the church bulletins. She made you feel special

Eleanor was faced with many difficulties in life, but she never wavered in her positive outlook and practicality. When her needs reached a point that assisted living was necessary she embraced her new residence at Rosemary's and called it home, and the staff and residents became a part of her family. She was always in command of her daily life, and her choices were made prayerfully.

It is with much love and peace that we say goodbye to Eleanor….wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and servant of the Lord.

In lieu of flowers it is respectfully requested that memorials be sent to Wallace Presbyterian Church, 205 West Man Street, Wallace NC 28466.
