Mr. Elbert Harrison "Harry" Adcock, 67, of 610 Midland Way died Tuesday, December 28, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Stan Smith, Nancy Willard and Mack McMillan. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hinson Adcock, a daughter, Jane A. Fletcher and husband, Charles of Laurinburg; a granddaughter, Carrie Fletcher of Laurinburg.
Born April 21, 1937 in Raeford, he was a son of the late Elbert A and Lois Gordon Adcock.
Harry graduated from Laurinburg High School and went to work as a cotton broker with Dawson Jackson and Jackson Cotton Company of Laurel Hill. It was on a trip to Wadesboro with Dawson that he met his future wife, Nancy. Harry later worked with McNair Seed Company, and was later manager of the National Finance Company in Laurinburg for many years. Over ten years ago he joined Scotland Motors as a part of their sales team.
He was formerly a very active member of the Laurinburg Jaycees and was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church where he was the head usher and faithful in many other aspects of church life. Harry was a great people-person and enjoyed attending horse sales with his granddaughter.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
