Elaine Newton Stubbs, 65, died Wednesday, March 31, at Southeastern General Hospital in Lumberton, NC.
A memorial service was 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel in Laurinburg, NC. Burial was in the Newton Cemetery, Newtonville, SC.
She is survived by a son, Jesse Stubbs, Jr. of Jackson Springs; two daughters, Deborah LaFerney of Saint Pauls and Lisa Lewis of Raeford; two sisters, Margaret Gibson of Gibson and Irene Atkinson of Myrtle Beach; 5 grandchildren.
Born October 4, 1933 in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Blanche Adams Newton. She was a retiree of Guardian Care Nursin Home in Henderson, NC. She will be missed and remembered by many of her friends. www.mcdougald.com
