Elaine Williams McCallum, 92, formerly of McColl, SC passed away June 7, 2013.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Candace "Candy" McCallum Nichols (Dean) of Laurinburg; her son, T. Randall Bridges (Shelia) of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Bonnie Bridges and Charles Dean Nichols, III (Melanie,) and a great grandson-to-be. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph McCallum Nichols.
Born January 10, 1921 in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late Walter Vance and Alma Kerr Williams and widow of the late Joseph Brown McCallum, III. She was a graduate of Montreat College. She formerly served as the editor of the McColl Messenger and was a retired accountant.
As an active member of the McColl Presbyterian Church, she was the church historian, former president of the Women of the Church, former circle chairperson, and Sunday School teacher for senior highs and adults for 32 years.
She was also a former president of the McColl Women's Club and former officer in the SC Federation of Women's Clubs.
