Ela P. Davis

Ela Pearle Davis, 85; of Laurinburg entered into eternal rest May 13, 2014.
She was predeceased by her parents Ira Garrett and Pearle Mae Prevatte; four sisters, Allie Kinlaw, Esther Robinson, Ruth McQueen, and Christine Robertson; and one brother, Leslie Prevatte.
Survivors include Ela's childhood sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Robert B Davis; three children, Robert (Bob) Davis and wife Faye; Joy Guest and husband Fairley; and Andy Davis and wife Phyllis all of whom reside in Laurinburg, seven grandchildren, Foster Davis and Ashley Rich, Sarah and Molly Guest and Garrett, Ross, and Walker Davis; and four great grandchildren, Landon & Luke Davis and Gage and Harper Rich, and one sister, Barbara Ann Culbreth of Fayetteville.
Family was the core of Ela's essence. She spent much of her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. Her sweet Christian spirit and kind and loving nature will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Ela never met a stranger and possessed a servant's heart. As a professional she was a compassionate registered nurse. As a servant she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Ever thoughtful and willing to listen, she was a wonderful friend and mentor to many.
Ela's life was full. She was a beautiful women and exceptional lady whose contagious smile and precious warmth will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Jonathan Jeffries will be held at 3:00 pm on May 16th in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church followed by a time of visitation with the family in the Nettie Hammond Fellowship Hall.
