Effie (Mcmillan) Parsons

Mrs. Effie McMillan Parsons, (86) of Fayetteville, NC died on April 19, 2019 peacefully and quietly in her sleep into the loving arms of her Lord. Effie was the wife and best friend of Kane Lamar Parsons Sr. for 62 years. Spending most of her life legally blind, he was her eyes and she his ears. They raised and adored two children. Kane Lamar Parsons Jr. of Cameron and Effie Marie Parsons of Fayetteville. They will always be known as her favorite son and her favorite daughter. Effie and Kane have one grandson, Branden.

Effie is well known for her grace and kindness, never saying a negative word about anyone and loving her life and family in her special way, her softness, her kindness and her sweet words. Starting as a consultant, Effie, an Executive Senior Director of Mary Kay Cosmetics, motivated women across the country to be a success and shared the love of building up one another and helping each other to succeed as independent business women. She was a pioneer in her own right. She was well known to say " sleep fast" as tomorrow is going to be an exciting new day!

Effie is survived by her sister Jane McMillan, and her brothers Whitt, Spurgeon, and Lauch.

Effie was predeceased by her brother Albert, her Parents and an infant sister.

A memorial celebration of Effie's life is to be held at the McNeill Family Cemetery, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow in the fellowship hall at the Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, as per her wishes. She regrets that this party she can not hostess, but assures you there will be enough food for everyone!
