Edwin "Eddie" Paul Gibson, Jr

Edwin Paul "Eddie" Gibson, 81, entered into rest on Monday, March 21, 2016.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in McColl, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the First Baptist Church sanctuary.
Born August 15, 1934 in Bennettsville, SC, Eddie was the son of the late Paul & Caroline Hubbard Gibson. He served in the United States Marine Corps for three years and was a systems analyst with West Point Stevens for 37 years.
Eddie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He also was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in McColl where he served as Deacon and various other offices in church.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lyndsie Gibson Melvin.
Eddie leaves behind to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 54 ½ years, Mary Turner Gibson of the home; daughters Kristy Melvin (David) of New Bern, and Kathy Locklear (Richard) of Laurinburg; sons, Paul Keith Gibson of McColl, SC, and Michael Gibson of Laurinburg; sister Carol Anne Hunter (Jerry) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Ashley Gibson (Ryan), Kristen Melvin, Mary Kendall Bender (Kevin), Taylor Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Kristoffer Gibson; & great-grandchildren, Ty Gibson, Garrett Gibson and granddog Maison.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in Eddie's honor to: First Baptist Church 220 North Main Street, McColl, SC 29570; or Scotland Regional Hospice PO Box 1033 Laurinburg, NC 28353.
