Mr. Edward B. "Ed" Luke, 86, of Scotia Village and formerly of Graham and Wagram died Thursday, March 13, 2008.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Wagram. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Mary Matthews Luke; two daughters, Cathy Luke of Myrtle Beach and Virginia Johnson and husband, Skee of Graham; a granddaughter, Erika Luke of Myrtle Beach.

Ed was born November 2, 1921 in Portsmouth, VA, a son of the late Frank R. and Lottie Peele Luke and grew up in Goldsboro, NC. He attended NC State and graduated in 1942 with a degree in General Engineering, and received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, serving in the South Pacific.

In 1945 he returned home and married and shortly afterwards moved to Schenectady, NY where he worked for General Electric. From 1950 until his retirement in 1981, he worked with Western Electric in Burlington and Greensboro.

After his retirement, they moved to the Riverton community near Wagram where he was an active member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, the Wagram Men's Club, and the American Legion.

In 2001 they moved to Scotia Village in Laurinburg where he remained active in activities until his health declined.

Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Morris Morgan Room, Scotia Village.
