Mrs. Edna Earl Evans Tew, 66, died suddenly Friday, November 13, 2009.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the East Laurinburg Church of God officiated by the Rev. Jeffery McGirt. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband Percy Tew; two sons, Billy Ray Tew and wife, Linda of Laurinburg and Johnny Franklin "Rock" Tew and wife Lisa of Laurinburg; her step-father, James Marshall Graham of Laurinburg; a brother, Franklin Evans of Laurinburg; a sister, Edith Evans McKenzie and husband, Everett of Laurinburg; five grandchildren, Larry Ray Tew, Jennifer Nicole Tew Watts, Robert Michael "Budgy" Tew, Chasity Danielle Tew, and Shania Brooks Tew; and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Branson Tew, two brothers, Charles Robert "Rob" Tew and Charles Eugene "Gene" Tew, and a sister, Loretta Evans Hatcher.

Born March 14, 1943 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Letha Berry Evans. For 30 years and 8 months she proudly served Southern Bell as a telephone operator. IN her pastimes, she enjoyed bowling, softball, and taking her brother riding.
