Earl James Vallandingham Jr.
Earl J. Vallandingham Jr., 50, of 15261 Jerusalem Road, Laurinburg, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1955, in Leonardtown, Md., a son of Elizabeth Cecilia Lashalt and the late Earl Vallandingham Sr. He was a poultry farmer with Perdue and a contractor with Cooler Erectors of Atlanta. Earl was an avid NASCAR fan and a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Earl James Killgore Vallandingham.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Midway Presbyterian Church, officiated by Dr. Rodger Decker and Dr. Glenn Harris. The burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Josephs Cemetery in Morganza, Md.
Surviving are: his wife, Lisa Wilkes Vallandingham of the home; three sons, Earl J. Vallandingham III of Orange Park, Fla., Adam Wilkes Vallandingham and Jacob Rowell Vallandingham, both of Laurinburg; a daughter, Amy Sue Vallandingham of Laurinburg; four sisters, Eva Cecilia Hall of Leonardtown, Earleen Snyder of Hollywood, Md., Noreen Anne Vallandingham of Jacksonville, Fla. and Linda Rose Wilkes of Laurinburg. Also surviving are: his stepfather, Clarence Peeler of Charlotte; mother-in-law, Margaret Wilkes of Laurinburg; one grandchild, Joy Kay Vallandingham of Bennettsville, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
